Hottest pick

Breville The Barista Express BES870 is not the simplest, one-button coffee machine. But once you taste the brew, you'll see why this is the best espresso machine in Singapore.
This semi-automatic bean to cup coffee machine will please both coffee connoisseurs and novice enthusiasts. A built-in burr grinder lets you experiment with coarseness and the amount of grind used for each cup. This feature isn't frequently seen in other coffee machines.
It's equipped with a professional milk steamer wand as well as a hot water dispenser. With these, you can easily make tea, hot chocolate, and any coffee with milk including cappuccino, latte, macchiato and cortado.
The best part of Breville The Barista Express BES870 lies in its precise espresso extraction, using optimum temperature and pressure for every cup. The crema on top is thick and rich, resulting in great tasting coffee.
It comes with 1-cup and 2-cup pressurized and non-pressurized filter baskets. Pressurized baskets will ease your journey as a beginner since they don't require fine-tuned grinding settings. However, I always recommend finding the best setting and using non-pressurized baskets.
By brew quality and device features, Breville The Barista Express BES870 is the best coffee machine you can buy in Singapore. The price may seem high at first, but it pays off in the long term. Coffee beans are much cheaper compared to any pods or capsules.
The only downside is that you'll need to learn how to use it. This is not a one-button device. However, after a few YouTube videos, you'll become an expert in no time!

It's hard for me to admit that this Nespresso machine is as good as many manual, and semi-automatic ones.
Nespresso Creatista Plus is an automatic device that uses Nespresso capsules. These are widely available, with a good selection of single-origin arabicas and traditional espresso drinks. Choose beans from Colombia, India and Brazil, as well as many flavoured barista creations.
The Nespresso Creatista Plus gets bonus points for its automatic steam wand. Set a desired milk aeration level and temperature, and let the Nespresso coffee machine do the job.
An intuitive display lets you pick one of 8 beverages and fine-tune it to your liking. Cleaning and maintaining Nespresso Creatista Plus is completely hassle-free.
This Nespresso machine heats up in only 3 seconds, and it's extremely easy to operate.
In addition to a water dispenser, the Nespresso Creatista Plus is a must-have for every decent office in Singapore.

Why you can trust my advice
Over the past 4 years, I've become a real coffee addict. A coffee connoisseur, some would say. I've discovered, reviewed, tried, and brewed coffee using more than 30 different coffee machines.
But the story doesn't end there.
I've finished a barista course, just to broaden my point of view.
This list of the best coffee machines in Singapore is the result of many years of practical, hands-on knowledge combined with extensive research. I've also considered other buyers' comments and their personal verdicts.
Why I picked out Breville The Barista Express BES870 and Nespresso Creatista Plus
My no. 1 priority was to find the coffee machine that brews the best espresso. If the foundation is not solid, there's no point in fancy features and appealing specifications.
Luckily, every coffee machine on this list was able to do so. Yet the first two picks excelled.
The advantage always goes to manual or, in this case, semi-automatic coffee machines. With manual grind settings, you can fine-tune your brew on the go. If you're aiming for perfection, there's no such thing as one size fits all. Coffee is easily affected by humidity, temperature and climate.
The next relevant factor was value for money. There are some coffee machines, including fully automatic and smart ones, that perform a bit better than Breville The Barista Express BES870. However, their price is two to three times higher so it's not worth it.
An honourable mention goes to Delonghi Singapore. Two amazing Delonghi coffee machines ended up on this list and both of them are among the leaders in the category.
What about the Krups coffee machine?
Krups indeed makes decent coffee machines. You can easily find Krups' Nespresso in Singapore, as well as many bean to cup coffee machines.
Unfortunately, the quality of simple brews such as espresso and lungo is easily outperformed by Breville and Delonghi machines, and that's why Krups is not on the list.
Nespresso vs Dolce Gusto – What’s the difference?
Both of these are designed with one thing in mind - to make an easily operated coffee device for the masses. They both succeed in doing that, but take different paths.
Nespresso vs Dolce Gusto – The Brew
The main difference between Nespresso and Dolce Gusto is in pods selection.
Nespresso focuses on espresso and espresso-based drinks. They gained popularity with a wide range of single-origin coffees and traditional Italian roasts. In their arsenal, you'll also find capsules specifically made to be used with milk.
Dolce Gusto didn't focus on espresso as much as Nespresso did. Although they have plenty of choices, including Starbucks coffee, you can find many teas, hot chocolates, and even a Nestea.
Nespresso vs Dolce Gusto – Milk
Nespresso comes either with a built-in steam wand or bundled with a milk frother such as Nespresso’s Aeroccino.
Dolce Gusto users will need to opt for a more expensive option - milk from the capsules. The other option is to buy a milk frother separately.
Nespresso vs Dolce Gusto – Price
The prices depend on the functionality of individual devices but there is an approximate range.
Since Dolce Gusto machines are more basic, they cost up to around $300.
With their advanced features, machines from Nespresso Singapore are priced from $100 to $800.
Where to buy a coffee machine in Singapore?
The best coffee machine prices will be found online. You usually can't test a coffee machine in a store so there's no point in shopping offline.
Check out the available coffee machine deals on Lazada, Shopee, and Qoo10.
Can humidity harm your coffee?
Humidity is among the biggest enemies of ground coffee.
If ground coffee absorbs moisture, the extraction process is slowed down, resulting in overly bitter coffee. The same happens if the grind is too fine.
So if you're serious about your coffee, try to keep it as dry as possible. A vacuum is the perfect solution for storing ground coffee, but any dark, airtight container will do the job.
However, if the humidity is too high, we recommend getting a dehumidifier or a portable aircon with a built-in dehumidifier. It will be good for your coffee as well as your health.
Should you consider coffee machine rental in Singapore?
It depends on your goals as well as your budget.
Some distributors will provide you with a coffee machine if you buy a certain amount of coffee from them. This makes sense for bigger offices and places where coffee is consumed in kilos.
